I am a firm believer in prayer and over the past few weeks I’ve been praying for women in my circle of influence who have been struggling in their marriages and relationships. I have sat with them on the phone or in person as they bear their soul, some of them finally tearing down pretense in order to truly see what lies beneath. I’ve cried and held them as they ask BIG questions, as they plead for change, as they beg for a way to come out of the deep hole they feel they are in. I’ve entered the throne room of God standing in gap for their children and their marriages, asking the Holy Spirit to give me guidance and truth, and to hold my tongue that wants to give opinions and advise, and turn to the Word of God and let the Holy Spirit speak for me.

This is the reality of ministry… This is the reality of doing life together… It gets messy, cause people are messy, relationships are messy, raising kids is messy, being REAL is messy! But what I’m finding is that I’m built for messy! I’m built for hard and excruciating. I’m designed to step out with eyes of faith and see a reality that doesn’t have to be present to be felt. What I mean is I’m not looking for an outcome. I’m not serving God only so He can satisfy my every need and desire. I serve Him and know that He is in control of every situation no matter what it looks like. It’s not an outcome, but on OUTLOOK!

It is very clear to me that the enemy is after the family dynamic. He is relentlessly after those who are desperately trying to live set apart for Christ. He is after the younger generation in his pursuit to hold them captive to all the things they are exposed to on a daily basis. And knowing all of this reality around me I still truly believe My Father is on the throne, He hasn’t relinquished His authority and sovereignty. He is working things out for the good of those who love Him. He is FAITHFUL!

Deuteronomy 7:9 (AMP) says “Therefore know [without any doubt] and understand that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who is keeping His covenant and His [steadfast] lovingkindness to a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep his commandments.” There is no other way God can be… He is faithful even when we are faithless. He loves us despite of us, he holds fast to the covenants He makes with us, and it is something that because of our trust in Him, He will move in ways beyond what our eyes can see, even beyond our years on this earth. And I’m grateful today that I can bear witness to all that He will do… even those I partner with in pain. Because together we get to bear witness to all God will do in our lives.
