The Month of November
On the blog this month, our writers will be taking their cue from Ann Voskamp’s One Thousand Gifts. Have you read it? It’s a beautifully written book where the author shares her journey “to find the meaning of life and fully embrace the surprising truth from the final scenes of Jesus’ earthly life. In the hours before Jesus’ execution, he took bread and gave thanks. This fresh, heart-wrenching book unveils the long forgotten wonder that through the imitation of Christ’s thankfulness, we too can experience a life of joy.” (quoted from her website)
Like Voskamp who journaled about what made her pause and says thanks throughout the day, our writers will share what they are thankful for this month. Small, big, serious or light-hearted – check in each day to see what each lady has to share.

The Recipe Box
At the end of the month, most will gather around the table with loved ones to share a Thanksgiving meal. In this month’s edition of The Recipe Box, let’s share some of our favorite side dishes to go along with the turkey or ham. Have a great traditional side dish or one that’s out-of-the-box but just as delicious? Email your Thanksgiving favorites to us at blog31@trinitytoday.com. The Recipe Box post will run on Friday, November 11th.

November’s Foto Friday
While we’re sharing what causes us to give thanks this month, we’d like to see what spurs you to thankfulness. As you go about your day, snap a picture of that moment when you think “thank you, Lord” and send it on to us. Or maybe you already have a picture in mind. Just like our writers, that thing could be something small or quite momentous, whimsical or contemplative. Please join in the “conversation” and share your photos with us. The Foto Friday post will run on November 18th. Please email your pictures to blog31@trinitytoday.com.

Mark Your Calendars
Saturday, December 10th is the date for this year’s Prize Christmas Party. “Breakfast at Trinity” is our theme this year, and Chanda Allen is our special guest speaker. We will be in the Great Room of University Campus from 9:00 – 11:30am. Tickets will be available starting November 6th for $13.50 at the Connections Booth.
If you are interested in decorating a table this year, you have the choice to decorate your table with real dishes or with paper goods. We wanted to add the option to use paper goods for those who would like to do a table but keep it simple and fun. For more information regarding decorating a table, contact Meredith at 792-3363.
Hope you’ll make plans to attend the Christmas party! What a great way to pause for some fun and relaxation in the middle of the busy holiday season!

Our annual community holiday outreach, Christmas Blessing Day, will be held on December 17th from 8am – 2pm. Last year, over 200 families from the Lubbock area received boxes of food, shoeboxes of toys, and heard the Good News! Several teams have already started planning and preparation for this year’s event; over 400 volunteers are needed to make the day a success. Volunteers are also needed on Friday, Decemeber 16th from 1pm-8pm to help set up and decorate for the next day’s activities. If you would like to volunteer to be a part of this wonderful day, please contact the Outreach Center at 788-0501 for more information.

Two dates to go ahead and save on your 2012 calendar: January 31st – our next scheduled night of prayer. March 2-3rd – Prize women’s conference, “Be”! More info on both events will be available in the coming months.
