God Doesn’t Play Hide And Seek

What can we do when they tell us the new Delta Variant of Covid-19 is 300 times more contagious than it was before?

What do we believe, what do we do? We are smart! If you are a person who wants the vaccine, please don’t shame others who don’t want it, or vice versa. We are all walking through the next right step for our families.

I will say that it personally seems as if this last round of COVID-19 is attacking a lot more individuals in my circle who weren’t showing signs of being ill. I know it happened last time as well. I just know more this time.

I received terrible news yesterday that a good friend of ours lost his father to this virus while his mother is out of state in ICU battling COVID.

That’s horrific news!

Carl and I had just seen this couple a few months ago. I find myself wondering whose family will it affect next. It’s surreal to be living in these times.

So, today, I want to ask a question:

What are we to do when we get the news that our love one is now a resident of eternity?

What are we to think?

In times where bad things happen, we may struggle to see evidence of God’s hand or face, and our thoughts may tell us that God was absent in His duty – but our response cannot be carnal. It must be based on the trustworthiness of our God that comes from our Spirit. Because He is still close and in control when His presence seems to be . . . absent.

I hear many ask me, what do I do when I can’t see Him or feel Him?

How do I access the comfort I need?

First of all, we need to keep in mind that while He may not be visible and audible, God can always be seen and heard. God leaves trace evidence of Himself everywhere.

We have to take the time to look for those traces.

Jeremiah 29:13-14 promises, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you.”

No God is not playing hide and seek with us.

God wants us to make searching for His heart a priority. But that doesn’t mean God plays hard to get. No, He tells us to seek Him because He wants to be found.

He not only lets us find Him but also actively reveals Himself to us.

What can you ask God to help you see today?

Join me in praying for everyone suffering from COVID-19 and everyone walking through grief with the loss of a loved one – let us pray for strength for our medical staff as well.

Amen. And, beloved, as the body of Christ we must not hide ourselves away in fear, but be available to love one another, particularly those dealing with loss. Let’s pray, and also be there for those around us.
