We are Enough, because of Him!
Every morning I pour a cup of tea. It’s captured my attention. How do I know when to stop pouring? I have large cups, small cups and in-between cups. So each morning the amount of tea I get depends on one thing…the vessel! It decides how much is “enough.”
This intriguing word has the power of being an adjective, pronoun, adverb or interjection. Is “enough” truly “enough?”
Looking at our lives, it seems like we never have enough:
Time in the day
Energy to keep up
Resources to stay entertained
So we seek to find enough:
Commitments to numb our pain
Success to meet our needs
Social validation to fill the void
Yet….
Lots of us walk around thinking we do not have enough:
Education or Experience
Influence in life
Meaningful relationships
It’s a never ending striving. So what is enough?
Our Enough is Jesus Christ. Everything, all sufficient! Our lives are a vessel for Him. We can be fully satisfied in-Him. When we declare, “Enough!” He responds with, “So glad you will trust me to give you the abundant life I have planned for you!!!” Our lives are on display for Him.
So it’s truly enough for us to…
Welcome weakness: “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
Resist Self-Sufficiency: “God can give you all you need. He will give you more than enough. You will have everything you need for yourselves. And you will have enough left over to give when there is a need.” 2 Corinthians 9:8
Embrace who we are In-Him: “ It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God.” 2 Corinthians 3:5
