Galatians 4:4-5 “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.”
Gavel in His hand
Robes of pure bright white
Eyes beholding His majesty
Adorned with Power and Might!
Order in the Court…
And not so quick!
Verdicts had been rendered
And judgment has been passed!
Who will stand up for me?
Who will intervene?
The Precious Lamb of God!
Our Father’s Son….
My Blessed Hope
For all eternity!!
Isaiah 7:14 “Behold, the Virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son, and shall call His name, Immanuel (God with us).”
When I was small I always enjoyed the nativity scene at Christmas time. What stood out the most to me were the wise men, the animals, angels trumpeting the good news (I thought they were super cool) and of course the baby in the manger. I also thought it was really cool when people would leave the manger vacant during December and then suddenly baby Jesus would jump or pop out from somewhere and be lying shiny and brand new in the manger hay on Christmas morning.
Whenever I try to comprehend the Christmas story I can’t quite wrap my brain around it. Honestly as Christmases come and go and more time passes by, when I think about what Jesus really did it literally blows my mind! I was guilty as I could be, wallowing in the earthly, wrongdoings and sin until Jesus shows up and says, “Not anymore, Satan, you can’t have Her… She is Mine!”
Extravagant Love did the unthinkable! Entering our earthly world full of hardships and pain, not just to save us from our sins but to connect with us and walk with us on a journey we could never do alone. Most of all, He came to love us and let us love on Him, WOW! Extravagant Love…. He came for the lost, the black sheep, for each and every one of us so we wouldn’t get left behind. To love us unconditionally taking all of our blemishes, wounds and scars casting it all upon himself so we could become Father God’s Daughters for eternity. So we could become forever His!
It is so beautiful to watch the Christmas story unfold as the Master of the Universe leaves behind His heavenly home to come and save us. He probably didn’t even think about it. He didn’t hesitate. He said, “I’ll do it!” and just like that He jumped down from the heavens to meet us face-to-face right where we are, just for me and just for you! And I really do want to go tell it on the mountains, over the hills and everywhere that Jesus Christ is born and that Jesus Christ has come. I want to find new ways to share Immanuel and the amazing things He has done.
You can’t lose and you will always win….
If you put Christ front and center.
Sharing His extravagant Love!
What new ways can you share Jesus in this shiny New Year?
How can you share His extravagant Love?
How about in ways you have never thought about before and/or imagined!
