Are you telling yourself a story about yourself that God wouldn’t tell?
Ouch. I think too often, we all do that.
So, today, we’re going to talk about flipping the script.
And how are we going to do that? We’re going to learn about the Benjamites. The Benjamites in scripture were amazing individuals. Saul was from the tribe of Benjamin, and many were ambidextrous, which means they were able to flip the script, and they were able to bring warfare to the current reality of needing to survive. They learned to sling stones and shoot arrows right-handed and left-handed. And we think, how did they do that? We know only 1% of the population has that skill because they’re born with it.
The rest of us, we have to learn to be able to use our right hand and our left hand in fulfilling the call of God on our lives. And so, I want you to think about baseball, and how there are switch hitters. And again, that takes skill, but did you know that there’s only one switch pitcher.
Why? Because that skill is so intense. Not everybody can do it. Someone’s been practicing and has natural skill, plus they have been given the ability to sharpen that skill. And so, today, I want to leave you with this challenge: what skill do you have to sharpen in order to go against the enemy who wants to take your script and to cement it to be something that you’re not?
Your brave can be somebody else’s breakthrough today. If you choose to do something that does not come naturally, what will be the outcome of that process? I hope you are listening because if you don’t like your story, you can flip your script. You do not have to allow somebody else to dictate what you want to do and who you want to become.
God wants to help you change that story. I want to leave you with II Corinthians 12:9 which says, “My grace is sufficient for you. My power is made perfect in weakness.” I hope you go read that in your Bible – and that you start praying brave prayers because God wants to use yours strengths and your weaknesses alike. So, go do something brave and watch it become somebody’s breakthrough today.
Thank you, Gloria! I needed to hear this today!
