Today, we are going to talk about grooming.
And like I said last week, we are talking about taking your cute puppy to the get a haircut.
We are talking about how the enemy is constantly working toward grooming us. He works methodically with one lie here and one lie there. Grooming is something that evil men and women engage in to intentionally bring harm to innocent people, so they can have pleasure.
How does bringing harm to someone bring pleasure – doesn’t that sound like an oxymoron if you’ve ever heard one?
The enemy is great at reinventing evil ways to harm God’s creation. We are watching it in full color in our streets today. People are being groomed and they don’t even know it.
Listen to how Webster’s define the word grooming –
“the practice of preparing or training someone for a particular purpose or activity.”
We are seeing that take place with the new fad called the transgender movement. It’s an evil grooming process.
Grooming is an English word, but the root of this word comes straight from the pit of hell itself. The enemy is busy deceiving mankind, and he only has that power because they are rejecting God. They have no spiritual covering.
Did you hear the word practice in that definition – what about the word training?
We all heard those words.
So, what happens if I tell you that the devil works hard to groom humanity every single day (that includes Christians too).
Well, he does. He grooms us with lies. And, we can stop listening to him and pay more attention to God.
There is nothing more the enemy would love but for us to practice and train in his camp which is none other than this world system.
The enemy knows he is the little g god of this world’s system for now.
He works his fingers to the bone trying to get us to fill our lives with wrong living.
If you’ve done any wrong living, you know what I’m talking about.
And he doesn’t care if we are Christ followers or not. Everyone is game for the picking if we choose to be bullied by him.
And if you are tired of being bullied or groomed by the enemy, let me remind you what
James 4:17 says:
“Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
So, stop believing that you are too far gone. Do an about face on the enemy of your soul, and tell him you are going to train in God’s camp from now on.
You are going to learn how to resist him.
Friends, remember just because something is technically legal doesn’t mean that it’s spiritually appropriate.
If we all went around doing whatever we thought we could get by with, we’d be a slave to our whims.
That is not God’s plan for us.
When we sin, we must realize that it’s at the expense of God’s glory and the higher good of His kingdom.
Let’s continue our conversation next week about right-living.
