Make Us Ready by Gloria Toti

From what we saw last week, Mary was busy planning her wedding to Joseph and all along she was also making plans to attend the WEDDING of WEDDINGS mentioned in the book of Revelation.

This young bride was shopping for her bridal gown on earth, and all along Jesus as He grew in her womb, He was getting one ready for her made of fine, pure, white linen.

The Marriage Supper of the Lamb mentioned in the book of Revelation 19:6 is yet to come, and the special attire needed to attend can only be provided by our Savior Himself.

He knows our size, but plans have to be made ahead of our arrival:

Let’s read:  “Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out,

For the Lord our God
the Almighty reigns.  Let us rejoice and exult
and give him the glory,
for the marriage of the Lamb has come,
and his Bride has made herself ready;
it was granted her to clothe herself
with fine linen, bright and pure”— for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.”

Only Jesus has the power to clothe us with fine linen, bright and pure.  It’s not in our human power to make this happen.  It’s called GRACE.

Just like Mary modeled a surrendered heart that allowed her to enter the things God had planned for her, we are no different.

Mary asked HOW?

Let it be our question as well.

How can I accomplish the things you have planned for me Father?  I want to get ready for the weddings of weddings as your bride…Father.  Make your church ready!

We want to find favor in your sight like Mary did.  Speak over us the things you have planned.  Get us ready for your dinner party Jesus.

The entire story of Christmas is one of grace.  Just like Mary was selected, so are we.  God will help us as He helped Mary.

When Mary lost Jesus, we don’t read in scripture that He took Jesus from her care.  No!  He offered her grace.  He clothed her with peace when she probably wanted to watch His every move He made after that day.

This Christmas, continue resting in the power of the Holy Spirit who knows how to make the impossible possible!!!
