I stood in the chapel at Trinity Church, and just moments before, the air was thick with worship, with wonder, with prayer. God’s presence wrapped around us like a warm embrace, as we closed out 21 days of prayer. It was powerful. It was intimate. It was exactly what we were made for.
And it made me think—how often do we hold ourselves back from what God has called us to? How often do we believe the lie that we’re not good enough, strong enough, or capable enough?
For years, I believed a lie. I told myself that I would never be able to memorize Scripture like others could. I watched my husband Carl quote the Word of God with ease, and I convinced myself that maybe that was just his anointing, not mine. I had tried. I had failed. And so I let it go.
But today, standing in that sacred space, the Holy Spirit gently nudged me.
“Try again.”
Not in my own strength. Not with my own abilities. But with Him.
Because here’s the truth: God’s Word isn’t just something we read. It’s something we carry. It’s a weapon. A sword. And what warrior would walk into battle without their sword?
So I started with Psalm 91. Those words aren’t just ink on a page; they are a shield, a promise, a declaration of who we are as daughters of the King. They remind us that we abide in the shelter of the Most High, that He is our refuge and fortress, and that under His wings, we are covered.
I may not have gotten every word perfect, but that’s not the point. The point is persistence. The point is letting God’s truth settle into the vault of our hearts, so that no matter what comes, we are ready.
So, my sweet friend, I ask you today—will you wield your sword? Will you step into the boldness God is calling you to?
Don’t let the enemy tell you that you can’t. That you’re not enough. That you’ll never change.
Because with God, every day is an invitation to pivot. To step into His truth. To fight with His Word. To walk in victory.
Let’s do this together.
With love and encouragement,
Gloria
