This past week we celebrated Mother’s Day. It’s the one day a year where we all reflect on how awesome our moms truly are.
While most young kids don’t have a clue what a mom is doing for them, God does.
I believe God purposefully strengthens the hands of moms and grand-moms each day since they strive to steward divine property, which is not an easy task.
Well, as awesome as Mother’s Day is, it is equally a hard day for many and for various reasons. I want to acknowledge you and remind you that God has the power to write a bigger story.
If you have felt it, you know that the mother’s love for her children is one of the strongest and most mysterious forces in the world.
Despite what a mom could or could not offer us,
God continually makes known that human love is only a fraction of what God’s love is for you. He reminds us He will always be there to pick up the pieces of life that you find yourself in, and He will offer you JOY.
Isaiah 66:13 reminds us about God’s comfort knowing we would need to know this truth–
“As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you.”
Did you notice the personal – you – in that sentence?
He wants us to feel His love when you read it because you are the “you” in the sentence,
we all are.
We will all need comfort in this life…and a whole lot of encouragement if you are raising young children. So, the next time you are up because you are a parent, think about God – you might not be the only one enduring sleepless nights and days filled drama.
God has more kids than anyone I know, and He handles a whole lot more activity in unmentionable ways than we ever will.
What an honor to carry the heart of God in raising children knowing we are stewarding divine property. Raising kids is eternal work.
Mom’s you were designed to be an example of LOVE and to awaken love in the hearts of children. Think about how after a mother has smiled at her child for many days and weeks, she finally receives the child’s smile in response – she has awakened love in the heart of her child.
God reminds us to see what He has done for us.
I John 3:1 tell us this:
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!”
I hope you focused on the words God and children. We are His.
That scripture alone doesn’t say that God is sacrificial, protective, nurturing, and faithful, but He is all of that.
Maybe, today you aren’t recognizing what God is doing in your midst or on your behalf…and you are taking him for granted? Just like little kids are prone to do. While we may not always “feel” God’s love, the Bible reminds and reaffirms to us that God’s love is unfailing, unmovable, and unconditional.
HE LOVES YOU MORE THAN YOU KNOW!
