GUESS WHO’S COMING TO JERUSALEM SOON? By Gloria Toti

I hear many say, I hate the news. I don’t’ listen to it anymore. And when I hear those words, something inside me is pained.

I love watching the news and being informed. I’m sure my love for world events stems from my love for God and His people.

Jesus is the one guest we should all be expecting.

Are you expecting him?

Today as I read the headlines, I was encouraged and discouraged at the same time – I read:

“Ukrainian pastor spreads faith-based message to troops who are ready to die.”

He chose to stay behind to pray for the soldiers to strengthen their morale…and these Ukrainian warriors are willing to stand for freedom by putting their lives on the line. I want the kind of faith they own.

That’s why I read the news – it changes my resolve.

Friends, I feel we honor God by paying attention to what is going on in His world.

I was sobered on Tuesday when my eyes glanced over a few headline titles that I am going to share with you:

“EXODUS: 2 MILLION FLEE!”

“Shoppers Scramble for Staples as Food Fallout From War Spreads Around World”

“Hundreds of Ships Trapped, Endangering Sailors and Global Supply Chain”

“Are We On The Brink of A Nuclear War?”

“Surge in wheat prices expected to seed more suffering”

“Nasa might study sex in space”

What Nasa? Really…

What is happening – I believe evil is being reinvented and righteous is not going away anytime soon. Christ’s return is closer than ever before. The sound of the trumpet we read about in I Thessalonians is getting ready to summon God’s people to worship…but don’t forget it was also used to help summon God’s people for war. I hope you remember you are a warrior in God’s army.

1 Cor. 15:52

Reminds us of how God will rescue his people in the twinkling of an eye.

We see in Genesis 5:24 and 19:22 that Enoch was taken from the world before the flood judgment and Lot was taken from Sodom before the fire judgment.

These accounts tell a story of what we find cumulating in I Thes 4:16-18

“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so, we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.”

I pray this video blog encouraged you. JESUS IS COMING BACK SOON – don’t waste your days with mundane living friends. This is not a time to be timid.

Thank you for the encouragement to be brave and expectant! It’s easy to become discouraged and depressed by all that’s going on, but we must always remember who holds us in his hands, and what he has in store for us. I think of Toby Mac’s song, “Help is on the way…!”
